I’ve been away for a bit spending time with family, friends, and re-charging my batteries. I can’t remember a time when I purposely put music away to simply live and explore, but I’m sure glad I did! Sometimes we artists lose sight that these stories we tell are shaped and inspired around life’s real moments and memories. After the release of Lonely Ones, an amazing tour, and the birth of my second child, I felt like time away from the business of music was needed in so many ways. I didn’t have a timeline or strategy which was terrifying. I just knew and felt a new season and chapter was beginning, and how music fit into that, I was unsure.
The one thing that remained was still the need to capture each piece of inspiration in the form of recorded voice memos on my phone and scribbled lyrics on paper. Slowly those melodies and words are re-appearing into songs and I see the light at the end of tunnel! I can’t say I know what the next album or EP looks or sounds like BUT I’m not afraid to write, record and release anything if I’m inspired by it!
So, I’m excited to share my new song “Life’s What You Make It” and hope it connects with you and your loved ones! Plan on hearing a lot more from me in the near future and please drop a note on my social media pages or leave an iTunes review if you dig the song!
